Fears & Phobias
At Holistic Renewal, I offer integrative therapy for young people, combining counselling, hypnotherapy, and supportive techniques to help them feel safer and more in control when fear or anxiety begins to take over. Whether it’s specific phobias, strong anxiety responses, or avoidance of everyday situations, I provide a calm and supportive space where they can begin to understand and gently reduce these fears.
I tailor my approach to each young person, working at their pace and using both talking and practical, therapeutic tools to help build emotional regulation, confidence, and a greater sense of safety.

Understanding Fears & Phobias
Fears and phobias in young people can feel overwhelming and often affect everyday life. These responses are the body’s natural protective system becoming overactive, even when there is no real danger.
I support young people to gently understand these responses and begin to feel more in control when anxiety is triggered.
Feeling Safe & in Control
When fear takes over, young people can feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unable to cope in certain situations. Therapy focuses on helping them feel grounded, safe, and more able to manage these emotional and physical responses.
This may include calming strategies, emotional regulation techniques, and supportive exploration of what lies beneath the fear.
Building Confidence Around Triggers
Avoidance often reinforces fear. Together, we work gently to increase confidence and reduce the intensity of fear responses, helping young people feel more able to engage with situations that currently feel difficult.
This is always done gradually and at a pace that feels safe.
Hypnotherapy & Relaxation Techniques
Hypnotherapy can be particularly helpful for fears and phobias, as it works with both the subconscious mind and the body’s automatic anxiety responses.
Alongside hypnotherapy, I may also use relaxation and visualisation techniques to help young people feel calmer, more grounded, and less reactive when faced with triggers. These approaches are always gentle, age-appropriate, and tailored to the individual.
